The Plastic Sense Foundation, associated entity with PACKNET

The Plastic Sense Foundation has joint PACKNET, the Spanish Technological Platform of Packing and Packaging, as new associated entity, in the framework of the 2019-2023 Strategic Plan of the foundation. The Strategic Plan provides for the cooperation with sector associations and public entities to contribute to pacts, work groups, events and projects that enable, through the creation and strengthening of networks, the promotion of the use and recycling of the PET food tray.

Thus, the foundation joins over 80 companies, business organizations, research centres and independent freelancers that are part of PACKNET and that create a shared forum to exchange knowledge, join efforts and promote R& D within the packing and packaging sector.

Who is PACKNET?

PACKNET is a Spanish non-profit entity that was established in 2009 under the National Science and Technology Strategy and the 2008-2011 National Research, Development and Innovation Plan. It provides a network of scientific and technological cooperation among the different agents within the packing and packaging value chain and its ultimate goal is to ensure an integrated strategic response to the challenges that society poses to the sector.

Contributing to the development of R&D projects, acting as an intermediary with Public Administration, enabling contact among its associates and the organization of sectoral events are some of the functions of PACKNET.

As a result of the collaboration with PACKNET, the Foundation is already part of the ‘Packaging and Consumer’ Working Group and of the ‘Food for Life’ Inter-Platform Working Group. It will participate as a speaker in the “New sustainable developments for meat and meat products” discussion panel of the Meat Attraction fair, an essential event aimed to meat sector operators that will be hold from17 to 19 September 2019 in Madrid.
